Depending on what you tell yourself

By  |

Needless to say, none of it happened overnight and many adventures are responsible for taking me from entirely unhappy a few years ago, to this moment in which I find myself working as an Overland tour leader in Africa and part-time travel writer. However, the slow nature of this process should not be down played, for the countless lessons throughout this period are now the vital cogs and make-up for everything I do.

However, if I have learned any one thing from the experience of these past few years, it is mostly within the responsibility that I have for any place I find myself, along with the future and my own well being. As with any adventure, it is never anyone else fault when things don’t work out the way I expect in life and despite what some might say, waiting for something to blow over and get better is rarely a practical approach when it comes to putting everything right again.

When I first began travelling through Africa on these adventures a few years ago, my love for travel, camping and the outdoors was not really the inspiration behind them but rather, it was a simple desire to start taking action in life, to stop prolonging the misery of doing something I did not enjoy for a living and begin telling myself that what I wanted, really was possible.

If you would like to follow my adventures as an overland tour leader or these overland tours through Africa, you might want to follow the No Hanging Around Facebook Page. Although I try to update this Africa travel blog as much as possible, the internet connection is quite poor in Africa and it is often easier for me to update social media with a post rather than here on the website.
